Artists Create Miniature Paper Birds And They Look So Real

Visual Art By Charlie / July, 05, 2025

These two talented artists from India Nayan Shrimali and Vaishali Chudasama created wonderful art pieces by using only paper and watercolors.

These two artists who are also amazing designers and their paper bird-making process started off with a challenge. The challenge involved making miniature birds with two products – paper and watercolors. This had to be done on a regular basis for one year!

If you think that paper is not enough to create something unique and artistic, then you need to glance through the artwork of these skilled pair. You’ll know this form of art in detail!

Nayan and Vaishali put in a lot of effort in the creation at every step. From the cutting of the paper to the final painting, they accomplished every step with proper detailing. They said, “We used the technique of layered paper cutting to give volume to the artworks and get a three-dimensional feel to them.”

The Chinese crested tern (Thalasseus bernsteini) is a tern in the family Laridae, closely related to the Sandwich tern, T. sandvicensis, and the lesser crested tern, T. bengalensis. It is most similar to the former, differing only in the bill pattern, which is the reverse of the Sandwich tern's, being yellow with a black tip. From the lesser crested tern, which it overlaps in wintering distribution, it can be told by the white rump and paler grey mantle, as well as the black tip to the bill, which seen from up close also has a white point. The larger greater crested tern is also similar, differing in its stouter, all-yellow bill and darker grey mantle and rump, as well as in size. . . . . #bird #papercut #paperart #papercutart #sculpture #paperbirds #miniature #chinesecrestedtern #savebirds #endangeredspecies #ternsofinstagram #contemporaryart #artcurator #naturalhistoryillustration #artistofinstagram #birdlover #birds_nature #birdnerd #nvillustration #etsy #beautifulbirds #365feathersproject

These artists give a very realistic touch to the paper birds, all done with their hands. They take inspiration from nature and make birds that people see every day around them! The birds are painted in the exact same manner as they look in real life. This miniature art is definitely eye-catching!

The entire process might take at least four hours and the time duration can go up to eight hours. It all depends on the kind of work the bird requires.

Their artwork is gaining popularity as people are liking their pieces. They have crossed 13 thousand followers on Instagram. Their talent is reaching a huge audience now!
