Light Pillars Appeared In Northern Canada And It Was A Beautiful Sight, This Photographer Captured Them Perfectly

If a lot can happen in a blink of an eye, imagine what all can happen overnight when you are in a peaceful sleep. You may sleep, but nature never sleeps! In Ontario, Canada, an event, in fact, a beautiful one was witnessed and captured by Timothy Joseph Elzinga. Yes, it was a surprise by nature and occurred during the wee hours.

Elzinga was deep in his sleep at 1:30 a.m. when his two-year-old son started crying. Elzinga had to calm him down and put him back to sleep again. As soon as he was successful in doing that, he noticed something incredible happening outside his window. A first glance at that was enough to captivate him and leave him stunned.

What was so entrancing about the view that he saw through his window? The initial interpretation of that view by Elzinga was “dancing lights”. The lights looked wonderful and nothing like one would have imagined! Even though he was absorbed in that sight but he knew he had to capture it being a photographer.

He grabbed his camera and went outside to seize the moment even if it means recording it for future. We know it’s not the same but it is the closest one can come to experience something that incredible twice!

Those lights seemed as if a spaceship from the universe was reflecting beams from high above. But in actual, there is a science behind what Elzinga observed on that freezing cold night! They are light pillars which are formed when hexagonal-shaped (or flat) tiny ice crystals swinging in the air form something similar to a mirror resulting in reflection of light emitted by sun, moon and even artificial sources of light!

Elzinga had the entire atmospheric phenomena captured in his camera because capturing moments is something he does professionally. It wasn’t just him watching the magic of nature at that time, his neighbors were equally enthralled by the view!

We see amazing things take place in our surroundings but we do not realize that even the rising of the sun is miraculous! It is time we start appreciating the little things.
